MatchDayGuru Statistics & Abbreviations Guide
To help you make informed decisions, we provide detailed performance data for every team. Below is a breakdown of the abbreviations used in our tables and what they represent.
Important Data Note
Unless otherwise stated (e.g., Odds), all statistics displayed are calculated averages based on the team's last 5 games. This ensures you are looking at the team's current form rather than historical data that may no longer be relevant.
1. Expected Goals (xG) Metrics
These advanced metrics measure the quality of chances created, rather than just the final score. They are useful for predicting future performance.
- xG+ (Expected Goals For)
- The average number of expected goals the team creates per match. A higher number indicates the team is regularly creating high-quality scoring opportunities, regardless of whether they finish them.
- xG- (Expected Goals Against)
- The average number of expected goals the team allows their opponents to create. A lower number indicates a strong defensive structure that limits dangerous shots.
- xGd (Expected Goal Difference)
- The net difference between xG+ and xG-. Positive (+): The team generally creates better chances than they concede. Negative (-): The team generally concedes better chances than they create.
2. Goal Statistics
These metrics track the actual outcomes of the matches (the ball hitting the net).
- Gs (Goals Scored)
- The average number of goals the team has actually scored over the last 5 matches.
- Gc (Goals Conceded)
- The average number of goals the team has allowed (let in) over the last 5 matches.
- Gd (Goal Difference)
- The average difference between goals scored and goals conceded. This is a primary indicator of overall dominance.
3. Match Events
These stats are vital for betting on specific markets like "Total Cards" or "Corner Handicaps."
- Corners
- The average number of corner kicks the team wins per match. High numbers often indicate a team that attacks down the wings or applies heavy offensive pressure.
- Yellow
- The average number of yellow cards the team receives per match.
- Red
- The average number of red cards the team receives per match.
4. Form & Market Data
- Form (Recent Results)
- A visual sequence of the team's last 5 match results. W = Win, D = Draw, L = Loss. Reading the order: The letter on the far left represents the most recent game, while the letter on the far right represents the oldest game in the sequence.
- Odds
- The current market price for the team to win. Data Source: We calculate the average odds from 20 major bookmakers. Freshness: These odds are updated automatically every 2 hours to reflect market movements.
